I grew up in Maine and Michigan living close with nature in a family of artists. I received a lot of creative stimulation and support. At 8 years of age I took up guitar and knew that music was my dharma. Through my teens I studied classical guitar intensely and soon became a virtuoso. At the same time I also pursued my love for other kinds of music, playing folk, rock, pop and jazz as well as song writing.
After high school I continued my studies at the San Francisco Conservatory of Music and the North Carolina School of The Arts where I graduated with a BM degree. By the time I got out of music school I no longer wanted to pursue a career as a concert classical guitarist. Changing directions, I concentrated on writing my own music which was closer to my heart, allowing the freedom to cross musical borders and integrate diverse musical styles.
At this time a strong inner search took hold in my life. My spiritual quest and yearnings led me to become a disciple of the Indian mystic, Osho (Rajneesh). My love of meditation, music, nature, natural healing and health have been the consistent passions throughout this life.
For 10 years I lived and traveled mainly in California, Oregon, Hawaii and India living around Osho communes and communities as well as devoting myself to recording & performing. In the 1980's & 90's I had 4 recordings of my instrumental guitar based music released by various record labels under the names Paul Greaver and Antar. I am also featured on some of the music from the world of Osho recordings. See my discography for complete information.
In the 90's I spent 8 years living in Marin county just North of SF. During this time I got more into recording, engineering & producing for my own projects as well as others. In 1998 I released a self titled CD of my songs that reflect on themes of spirititual, ecological, and social consciousness.
In 1999 I moved to the woods of Northern California in Southern Humboldt county where I've been running Leib Ostrow's DRAGONFLY STUDIO. Here I've been engineering, producing & mastering recordings, mostly for a childrens music company called Music For Little People. See discography for details.
I have just finished a new CD of my own, Garden Of Mystic Lovers, and have created this web site to make it available. I would now like to explore finding compatible live performance opportunities to share this music.
